This position will have significant organizational support and many assets to leverage, including a robust database, a motivated Board of Directors, a programmatic footprint in four states currently impacting over 950,000 people, an organizational wide staff of over 600 (including full-time, part-time and seasonal), an internal data analyst and marketing/engagement team, a director of finance, executives with fundraising experience, and deep partnerships within the sports industry, municipalities, school districts and general community.  We have incredible potential to build and deepen our organization’s level of engagement with donors and we are looking for a dynamic leader to initiate and grow the department. 
What You’ll Be Doing
Work with Executive Director to plan and meet ambitious yet attainable annual and 5-year fundraising goals across the spectrum of giving of USTA/PNW
Work with ED and COO to identify, select, implement comprehensive CRM solutions that enable the organization to engage and track the complete donor experience and giving history
Create and manage a set of major-donor and grant leadership relationships with individuals and foundations and fostering on-going  interest in USTA-PNW programs and outcomes
Create an appropriate annual giving program supporting RecTennis, focusing an appropriate mix of public and private funding and grants.  
Advise and serve as a sounding board for the ED and COO with regards to all giving strategies in support in the growth of programming and appropriate expansion of the brand
Engage and inspire the USTA/PNW board to assist with major giving, sponsorships, and grants
Partner closely with the ED to recruit and engage a major gift fundraising committee whose work would focus on major gifts and sponsorships
Exercise entrepreneurial leadership within the executive team to inspire and create a culture of philanthropy across all aspects and audiences of USTA/PNW resulting in metrics and goals being met consistently
Problem solve and address matters as they arise
Liaise with national staff, as needed
Executive Leadership Team:  Create and oversee a fundraising strategy and implementation plan; work with donor database, draft reports required to track progress against a variety of goals, engagement of individual donors, and appropriate aggregation of all gifts including planned giving; train and enable others to call up fundraising reports as needed; lead discussion of strategies and issues related to fundraising with Board, Executive Committee, and Leadership team.  Represent USTA/PNW as needed, especially within the fundraising community to ensure that USTA /PNW has a valued presence in its entire region and at the national level.
Operational Planning: In conjunction with the ED and COO develop and implement annual, metric-driven operating plans for the overall fundraising and for its key functional elements, to accomplish the Section’s tactical priorities and achieve its long-term strategic goals and objectives as they relate to fundraising.
Fiscal Responsibilities:  With Leadership Team (ED, COO, CMO, Director of Finance, etc.) based on USTA/PNW’s 2-5 year plan, develop annual fundraising operating budgets with appropriate collateral, and marketing engagement focused on fundraising.  Using the donor database and working with the COO, manage budgets against goal attainment.
Program Development: Grow the Section’s giving in accordance with annual growth goals by focusing on major giving and generating grant income. Be on the lookout for ways that giving and funds raised can improve, expand, and enhance the quality and range of the organization’s program and service offerings to keep pace with demands of the Section’s members and the ED.
Internal and External Partnerships: Act as a leading staff liaison to key internal stakeholders, including the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key external stakeholders, including but not limited to local, regional, and national foundation leadership, industry professionals, and state and local officials who may have grant fund decision-making responsibilities.
Marketing, Communications and Outreach: Supervise the creation and production of all USTA/PNW communications related to fundraising, including but not limited to print media, internet and social media. Ensure proper role and placement of fundraising in the USTA/PNW’s comprehensive, strategic marketing and communication plan.
Develop Volunteers: Oversee recruitment and continued development and deeper engagement of the organization’s fundraising committee.
Representation and Attendance at Key Meetings: Travel to: 1) USTA Annual, Semiannual, meetings; 2) Support ED and participate in USTA/PNW Board of Directors and Officers meetings, including the PNW Annual meeting, and other meetings scheduled from time-to-time.
Travel and Working conditions: Represent USTA-PNW at various events, and represent the organization to its ever growing group of philanthropic investors in Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho, and Alaska. Fundraising work involves many evening events and can involve significant travel and hours outside the normal work week.

Comply with all laws and regulations to which fundraising for any organization is subject
Implement and adhere to all policies and procedures, as approved by the Executive Director and Board of Directors

Bachelor's Degree
Development Director experience in a nonprofit environment 
Proven ability to create a scalable fundraising strategy and appropriate mix of funding sources
Proven ability to expand and strengthen partnerships with individual donors and foundations
Proven ability to remain agile and expand departmental growth with organizational growth and continually increase fundraising success
Entrepreneurial, comprehensive, and prospect-driven experience to corporate and foundation relations
Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and alliances with internal and external constituencies
Proficiency with donor database systems and/or CRM databases 
Ability to present and analyze financial and fundraising information 
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Word and Excel 
Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects 
Organize work to meet deadlines and work independently 
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers 
Knowledge of fundraising techniques and forecasting 
Proven ability to lead a team
Excellent written and oral communication skills 
Other Details
  • Compensation commensurate with experience.  Bonus eligibility is determined annually.
  • Benefits: The current standard company health, life, disability, vision, and dental insurance coverage are supplied per UST/PNW policy.  Eligibility for other benefits, including 401(k), Vacation and PTO, will take place for USTA/PNW policy.  Employee contributions to payment for benefit plans is determined annually.  Opportunity to participate in Health Flex Plan.  
  • Travel Expenses: Normal and reasonable expenses will be reimbursed per USTA/PNW policy.  Travel may be required for trainings, National meetings, and or section visits.
