Founded in 1984, the Oregon & SW Washington Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals meets local demand for a professional organization with access to national fundraising and philanthropy resources. Our mission is to provide opportunities for education, philanthropic advocacy and peer networking. We are your comprehensive source for professional fundraising resources. The Code of Ethics and Donor Bill of Rights are integral aspects of AFP membership. To meet local board members, to explore the chapter's volunteer needs or just to find out more, contact us.

“Bringing Sexy Back to Diversity and Ethics”
James Phelps, CFRE, Director of Development, ACLU
Nothing’s less sexy than making embarrassing cultural blunders with donors. Wouldn't it be nice to learn from others and avoid the potential of personal embarrassment? Hear about some errors fundraisers have made working with people of different cultures and what you can do to avoid missteps. You’ll see how easy it is to “engage” people of different cultures rather than “enrage” them! Mr. Phelps serves on the AFP Oregon and SW Washington Chapter Board and as Chair of the Diversity committee for AFP International. He brings 19 years of experience in fundraising and development work.
The Senior Salon Series is presented at no charge to AFP chapter members but registration by November 27th is required because space is limited.
