VP of Development and Partnerships

Key Responsibilities

The VP will be versed in traditional and non-traditional methodologies of fundraising. Have exemplary management and communication skills, outstanding attention to detail, and an eagerness to excel in all responsibilities listed below:

 

  • Develop and drive organizational revenue strategy in collaboration with senior leadership team.

  • Personally cultivate, solicit, steward, and monitor a portfolio of national and international funding partners.

  • Set annual revenue goals, oversee the creation of annual fundraising and stewardship plans to achieve those goals, and monitor progress.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership team to develop impact measurements and success indicators, and communicate these to funding partners and prospects.

  • Oversee the development and expansion of an innovative sustaining monthly member giving model.

  • Qualify and cultivate new philanthropic, foundation, and corporate prospects.

  • Build our development team, processes, and systems.

  • Lead funding package ideation with a cross-functional team and oversee all funding requests to ensure integrity and alignment with strategy.

  • Supervise Development Manager and oversee frontline fundraisers (CEO, COO, Board members and advisors) funding goals.

  • Forecast monthly and annual revenue projections.

  • Work with finance team to ensure integrity of financial reporting on revenue activities.

  • Prepare and present quarterly and annual funding reports to the Board and senior leadership team.

  • Stay abreast of key international women’s issues and philanthropic trends, and share insights with relevant audiences.

  • Represent and liaise for World Pulse in important meetings and forums domestically and internationally.

 

Desired Skills, Characteristics, and Experience

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible fund development experience.

  • Confident, poised and at ease with variety of funders and partners.

  • Track record of driving exponential revenue growth to $2 million and above with a multi-faceted revenue generation program.

  • Record of securing five to six-figure major gifts or investments.

  • Experience with successful grant writing and proposals

  • Four or more years’ experience supervising staff.

  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to prospect, cultivate, and manage trusted relationships with significant funding partners.

  • Knowledge of current and emerging applications of technology for fundraising or sales implementation.

  • Experience executing successful online fundraising campaigns.

  • Accounting or finance coursework, or equivalent experience in forecasting revenue projections.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and public speaking skills — ability to represent World Pulse in public forums.

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 25 percent of year.

 

Organizational and Work Environment

 

  • Be active on World Pulse Online Community.

  • Participate in events and represent World Pulse.

  • Due to the global nature of the organization, team members must be available occasionally to conduct work outside of office hours with prior notice

  • Team members should embody the World Pulse Rules of Engagement, mission, vision, and brand, acting both internally and externally as a brand ambassador and fundraiser.

 

Compensation

This is a salaried position with a base salary commensurate with skills and experience. Our generous benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, and a 401(k) program, 4-week paid vacation and 10 paid holidays plus sick time. This is a full-time position located in our Portland, Oregon headquarters.
